This year we will be serving hot breakfast for students in lieu of in the classroom. Breakfast will be from 7:30am-7:50am and will begin September 8th.
P.S 197 offers Drama for grades 3K, Pre-K and Kindergarten. Creative Drama is where students explore emotions, facial expressions, body and voice through imaginative play. Students sing songs, movement and use puppets to reenact their favorite stories like Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs and The Ugly Duckling.
Students in Grades 1, 2 & 3 dive into storytelling using scripts! Students practice tapping into their own emotions to develop empathy for characters on the page. Collaboration and Focus become key we begin preparing to perform on the stage for families and for the school community!
Grade 4 & 5 students put their cumulative knowledge of Drama to use by exploring playwriting and improvisation! Students learn about careers in theater, and explore production elements.
